Beautiful church building, fellowship hall, and additional fix-up house atop hill on 3.57 acres. The facility can continue its tax-exempt religious use, become a community center, a camp facility, or reconfigured for a magnificent home.
The property is a short walk to Lake George and 2 miles from the historic site, Pat's Island, where "The Yearling" was filmed. It is several miles from the Ocala Wilderness area, Silver Glen Springs, and a dozen campsites and recreational areas.
The ideal place to vacation, own a permanent residence, or establish a retreat.
Michael Kokoski, Senior Planner in the Planning and Develpment Department at Marion County states the property is currently designated "Rural Land" and, as such, could not be used for commercial purposes until there is a change of land use designation.
In order to change the designation one must apply for a "Small Scale Comprehensive Plan Amendment." This process takes place in cycles each year and there is a cycle currently underway with the application deadline September 30. A new owner or the church could apply for the land use change. The next cycle will occur early in 2012. The application fee is $3000 and the needed land use designation for "Commercial Recreation.” Once the land use was changed to "Commercial Recreation" the owner would then need to get the zoning changed to "PRV" to allow for the RV Park or another use. The zoning Office said this would be very straightforward and easily obtained.
